Mercer CCTV Donates Money for a Virtual World
|
For the past two years, instead of the usual promotional gifts given out at exhibitions such as IFSEC 2009, Mercer CCTV have decided to do something a little different. The money that would have been spent on “Freebies” has instead been donated to Charity. In 2008 money was donated to Action Aid which helped to fund a teacher in Somaliland and a midwife in Sierra Leone.

This year we have donated the money to The Laura Crane Trust, the only UK charity funding ongoing research, specifically into cancer in teenagers and young adults (13-24 year-olds). The money will be put towards funding “Chat World” a fantastic new 'Virtual World' facility, which will allow young patients to log on to this secure facility at any time of day or night to contact others going through similar experiences and benefit from mutual support.
